What’s new for August 2016
Our new versions of XREF Encyclopedia are being used by customers nationwide and in Canada and the reviews have been very good. Thanks to our in-house software developer we are improving ways to enter and manage the data you all rely on. Our new XREF Content Management software package is allowing us to add more data, quicker and with better accuracy!
The XREF Encyclopedia user interface now features the following:
A whole new look – search controls and results are all on one screen that features an improved and intuitive user interface. In cross-reference, part numbers are now organized alphabetically by brand. If a direct cross-reference record exists for a single search term, it will appear at the top of the results list, accompanied by any related specifications records. When you click on the brand name abbreviation you will be shown the full brand name and when you click on codes you will be shown their definitions. On-screen tips will help users get more out of the program. An improved help file can be accessed by pressing the F1 key on your keyboard. The results window font size can be changed to suit your needs. Instead of converting letter O to a zero, you can now search for part numbers with an O in them. When switching to a different database, the search box retains the last number queried. And finally, a log file now records each occurrence when a user gets no results from a search. That search term is logged and when users run an update, they can upload that file to XREF so that we can improve the product by adding data that users aren’t finding.
Since our last release, we have added major data updates for the following brands:
Air-Con, Amana, Bard, Carrier, Dynacon, Envrio-Tec, GE, Goodman, Grainger, ICP, Mestek, Mitsubishi, Modine,Rheem,Skymark, Sterling, Trane, Trenton, Wilspec, Xenon, York (UPG) and many more.
Special thanks to all of our beta testers that helped us troubleshoot and improve the software before we released it!
